Libraries and Customer Services
Our teams create welcoming spaces and connections to promote education, well-being, and an inclusive city. They assist all residents to find information and access or pay for council services.
The Contact Centre answers all council enquiries that come in by phone, email and social media. There are a range of shifts to suit as the service is 24/7. This is a dynamic environment where you are always learning new information about Tauranga and our council. From rubbish and recycling, building, water, roads, noise control, trees, parks and so much more, the Contact Centre helps everyone in our community.
There are five Library Community Hubs (He Puna Manawa, Greerton Library, Mount Maunganui Library, Pāpāmoa Library, and Mobile Library). Working in a hub you are on the front-line, making a welcoming environment and accurately assisting people to use technology and find information. We need people who are resilient and willing to work at different locations and days of the week.
Being great with people and willing to learn technology are key requirements for all our roles. Beyond that, there are many possibilities to bring your own super power – whether you are a speaker of te reo Māori, an artist or play an instrument, love storytelling, local history and whakapapa research or even driving a 12 metre vehicle. So, if you’re a knowledge navigator, a problem solver, and a customer service star, we want to hear from you. Check out the roles below and apply today.
