Our Regulatory and Compliance teams do the mahi to keep us all safe.

There’s no getting around it…both local and central government have a few rules for people to follow. The rules are there for a number of reasons, like keeping people, property and pets safe from harm, protecting the environment, or ensuring everyone can live together harmoniously in our city.

Our Regulatory and Compliance team are the people who help us follow the rules as we go about our daily activities. Building inspectors, planners, parking officers, animal services, licensing, bylaws and environmental health officers – they’re all out there, every day, keeping us safe and protecting Tauranga moana for future generations. 

There’s a huge variety of roles in this team, with many career paths to follow. Some may require specific technical knowledge or certification, while others can be learned on the job. Check out the roles below to see what might suit your skills and interests.
