We’re looking for an experienced asset management specialist with strong mechanical (and ideally electrical and civil) plant infrastructure experience to support our water, wastewater and stormwater services. This role combines practical engineering understanding with asset management planning and asset information management — improving asset information, forecasting renewals, and supporting sound investment decisions.
You will:

- Lead and improve renewals planning, forecasting, prioritisation and budgeting
- Develop asset information requirements and improve how asset data is collected, captured and maintained (for as-builts and digital engineering purposes)
- Support validation and valuation of assets and improve the quality of asset records
- Develop and support condition assessment approaches and programmes, and use results to inform renewals planning
- Manage and assist the Infrastructure Information Specialist to capture and maintain asset information and update asset management systems
Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in infrastructure asset management (three waters or similar regulated infrastructure preferred)
- Confidence improving asset information requirements, data quality and the “source of truth” in asset systems
- Strong practical understanding of mechanical assets (and ideally electrical and civil), including how they are designed, installed, operated and maintained
- Experience with renewals planning, forecasting and working with budgets/asset management plans
- Experience supporting asset validation/valuation and condition assessment work
- A relevant tertiary qualification (engineering, asset management, business or similar) and several years’ relevant experience
