As a Building Control Officer- Processing you will be helping provide professional, high-quality service to our customers. You will be dealing with the processing and certifying of building plans and related documentation that have been submitted for building consent in accordance with the Building Act 2004. The role requires the ability to be able to communicate technical information to customers in a helpful and concise manner, ensuring that timely and accurate information is received and understood.
Our BCOs benefit from a competency based remuneration system, meaning that we will increase your salary as your increase competency, in addition to the Council's normal remuneration programme.
Ngā Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed
- A tertiary qualification in a building related activity as required by Regulation 18 of the Building Control Authority Regulations.
- Working knowledge of the Building Act 2004, Building Regulations 2006 and the Building Code.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An existing competency of Residential 2 or above would be advantageous
