Te Tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Business Coordinator to join Tauranga City Council on a 6-month fixed term contract, supporting the team in our Libraries through staff absences and a busy period of work.
You’ll provide high-quality coordination and administration support that helps the wider team stay on track. This is a practical, fast-paced role and is likely to include:
- supporting library operations and service delivery processes (e.g., memberships, holds/reservations, stock movements, reporting)
- varied work across admin, coordination, reporting and financial support
- maintaining accurate records and filing in Council systems
- responding to internal and external enquiries in a professional and timely way
- helping keep processes running smoothly and suggesting improvements where you see an opportunity
This is a great fit for someone who can hit the ground running, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate, high-quality work while working confidently and taking initiative.
Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Strong experience in a senior administration or coordination role (ideally supporting a busy team)
- Experience working with library systems and/or library service delivery processes would be an advantage
- Excellent attention to detail and confidence working across systems, processes and deadlines in a customer-focused service environment
- Sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information
- Confidence with financial administration (e.g., invoicing, purchase orders, reconciliation and reporting)
- A calm, practical approach and the ability to deliver quality work in a busy environment
