We are seeking a proactive and flexible People Business Partner to support the organisation through current business demands and local government reform programmes. 

 

Te Tūranga | About the role 

As a People Business Partner, in this 12-month fixed-term position you will provide strategic and operational Human Resources support to the organisation. 

This role has been established to help manage current business-as-usual demands, which may include support for Local Government Reform Programmes, either directly or indirectly. The successful candidate will be comfortable working flexibly across priorities as needs arise, stepping in where support is required most. 

We are looking for someone who is happy to adapt and contribute wherever needed in a dynamic environment. 

Some of the key outcomes and focus areas for this role will be: 

  • Acting as a trusted and approachable advisor to People Leaders and the wider organisation. 

  • Ensuring HR advice and guidance is sought out and valued by leaders. 

  • Coaching and developing People Leaders to strengthen their leadership capability. 

  • Building and maintaining trusted, sustainable, and effective working relationships. 

 

Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed 

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring: 

  • A tertiary qualification in HR or related discipline 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with the business to effectively execute business strategy 

  • Exceptional strategic thinking with the ability to influence across all levels of the Organisation 

  • Clear and effective communication both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex information and get the message to land 

  • Calm and patient demeanour, yet dynamic and agile in your approach to work.  

This role sits in a highly sensitive part of the organisation and its imperative that this person can apply discretion and uphold confidentiality.
