Te Tūranga | About the role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager to play a key role in shaping Tauranga’s future.
As a Programme Manager in our City Waters team, you’ll lead a significant programme of projects that support the city’s growth and strengthen our water and wastewater networks. This is a high-impact role with real influence over delivery strategy, priorities, and outcomes for a developing programme of work.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure projects are well governed, well planned, and delivered efficiently for our community.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage a programme of complex infrastructure projects from planning through to closeout
- Lead and manage strategic procurement initiatives including our current panels
- Provide strong leadership to your team, including coaching, mentoring, and capability building
- Contribute to programme and project governance, risk management, and decision-making
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Be an active member of the City Waters programme leadership and project delivery teams
Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
You’ll be a confident and experienced leader with a strong background in programme and project delivery. You’ll also bring:
- A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Extensive experience in project and programme management (10+ years)
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks and risk management
- Proven experience in the water or infrastructure sector
- Experience leading teams and working with project steering groups
