Te Tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our Spaces and Places team. In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of community infrastructure projects—like parks, skateparks, sea walls, sport infrastructure, playgrounds, and public facilities—that make a real difference to our city.

You’ll work with a wide range of people across Council and with external partners to plan, organise, and deliver projects that meet our goals, stay on budget, and finish on time.

What you’ll be doing

• Planning and developing project scopes and objectives with input from key stakeholders.
• Managing budgets, timelines, risks, and resources to keep projects running smoothly.
• Coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to ensure efficient delivery.
• Leading projects that are delivered in partnership with other organisations.
• Tracking progress and reporting on project outcomes, risks, and any issues that arise.
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships across teams and partners.
• Sharing lessons learned and identifying opportunities to improve how we work.
• Ensuring value for money is identified and tracked

Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or Project management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of project management experience, or a PMP qualification.
• Experience managing contractors, budgets, and project programmes.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills, especially with multi-disciplinary teams.
