Help shape Tauranga’s future by delivering essential water infrastructure projects that support a healthy and liveable city for generations to come.

Join a supportive team in Tauranga where you’ll work on meaningful infrastructure projects and see the impact of your work in the community.

This is a great opportunity to grow your project management career, with exposure to a wide range of capital projects and the chance to learn from experienced delivery partners.

Our City Waters team delivers a diverse programme of three waters capital projects across Tauranga. In this role, you’ll take ownership of projects end-to-end — from planning, developing options and design through to delivery — contributing to the successful delivery of the wider capital programme.

As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Helping deliver a range of water infrastructure capital projects, from planning through to completion
  • Supporting the management of project scope, budget, programme, and quality
  • Working alongside contractors and consultants to keep projects moving
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contributing ideas and supporting continuous improvement

You’ll do well in this role if you enjoy hands-on project delivery, solving problems, and working with a range of people to get great outcomes.

Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed

This role could be a good fit for you if you have:

  • Experience working in infrastructure, construction, consulting, or a related field (waters experience is advantageous but not essential)
  • Exposure to planning, solution development, or project delivery
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable (engineering, project management, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a willingness to learn and grow
