Te Tūranga | About the role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the planning, configuration, installation, systems management, and coordination of the Councils significant network infrastructure.
- You will have the opportunity to shape TCC’s future network operating environment
- Be the leading stakeholder in the future design of our network whilst being point of contact for wider stakeholders and our supplier vendor network.
- Lead conversations in prioritisation, scope and the assignment
- Continuously improve network processes, procedures and ways of working, delivering against our maturity objectives
- Continually improve services, manage vendors to agreed SLAs, and drive innovation to enhance effectiveness.
- Manage upgrades with minimal disruption, and optimize network assets for business process improvements.

Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- 5 + Years of Experience in a network (analyst, engineer, architect) discipline
- Professional industry certification(s) in network infrastructure environments – planning design, and implementation such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+,[UM1] [UM2] [RF3] Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist (CMSS) etc.
- Hands on experience in routing/switching/wireless and firewalls.
- Multi-vendor experience such as Cisco, HPE Aruba, Extreme Networks, Juniper and PaloAlto is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in solution design, installation and on-going support
- Extensive experience working with Cloud: Microsoft Azure, Teams Voice and Office 365
- Knowledge of Next Generation and Software Defined Networking principles and design
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, engaging with both business and technical stakeholders
