Te Tūranga | About the role 

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering Tauranga City Council’s major civil infrastructure projects—projects that shape the future of our city and support our growing community. 

You’ll lead the planning and delivery of complex, highvalue and highrisk transport and infrastructure upgrade projects within Tauranga City, working closely with internal teams, external partners, contractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. 

Key highlights of the role: 

  • Lead and deliver major infrastructure projects from planning through to completion 

  • Manage complex contracts, budgets, risks and stakeholder relationships 

  • Provide strong leadership to project teams and contribute to a highperforming, improvementfocused culture 

 

Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed 

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring strong technical project management capability along with proven experience leading complex and high value infrastructure programmes. 

You’ll also have: 

  • bachelor’s qualification in engineering or a related field 

  • 8+ years’ project management experience and/or a PMP qualification 

  • Demonstrated success managing contracts, consultants, contractors and suppliers 

  • Strong planning, risk management and reporting skills 

  • A proven ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders 

  • A commitment to health and safety and continuous improvement 

Experience delivering large, complex or highrisk horizontal infrastructure projects in a publicsector or similar environment will be highly regarded.
