Te Tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for an intern to support our work in accessibility, inclusion, and staff development. You’ll help us plan and promote initiatives that make Tauranga City Council a more inclusive place to work. If you’re curious, organised, and passionate about people, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact.

What You’ll Do

• Help summarise and plan three key inclusion initiatives
• Create a calendar of events for 2026
• Gather and share information about workplace accommodations and accessibility tools
• Meet with staff groups to understand their needs and suggest quick wins
• Support planning for cadet workshops and the Summer Student Showcase

Who We’re Looking For

You might be studying HR, communications, social sciences, or something similar. You’re probably someone who:

• Is curious and keen to learn
• Communicates well and enjoys working with others
• Is organised and good at managing time
• Cares about inclusion and accessibility
• Is confident using digital tools and systems

What You’ll Get

You’ll work closely with the Learning and Development team and be involved in meaningful projects. By the end of the internship, you’ll have helped shape future training and inclusion efforts, and gained valuable experience in a supportive environment.
