Te Tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for two Water Technicians (Drinking Water) to help keep our community’s water clean, safe, and flowing. You’ll be part of a supportive team that looks after water treatment across the region.
This is a permanent, full time role that includes a 1-in-5 roster with overtime.
You’ll be helping to protect public health and support your community every day. We work together, communicate well, and back each other—so you’ll be joining a team that values your contribution and helps you grow.
What you’ll be doing

Operating and monitoring water treatment plants and pump stations

Carrying out routine maintenance and inspections

Responding to faults and breakdowns quickly and safely

Using automation systems to optimise performance

Keeping accurate records and reporting issues

Supporting continuous improvement and innovation in water treatment

Working independently and as part of a rostered team

Undertake projects to improve the efficiency and quality of our systems
Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
-
Trade or technical experience, with at least five years post-qualification
-
A strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to long-term career growth in water treatment

Confidence working independently, with a proactive mindset and problem-solving skills

Experience with automation, optimisation, and fault-finding
-
A current full driver’s licence

Somone who is keen to work hard, put in the extra effort needed, and work closely with the existing team.
