Te Tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for a Workforce Analyst to join our People, Performance & Culture team at Tauranga City Council. You’ll play a key part in turning workforce data into meaningful insights, lead our annual remuneration review processes and ensure job sizing is applied consistently and accurately. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Council to support informed, evidence-based decision-making.
What you’ll do;
- Analyse and report on workforce and remuneration data, producing clear, accurate, and accessible insights for leaders.
- Answer requests for workforce-related information, including official information requests.
- Collaborate with the wider People Team to support the delivery of people initiatives through robust data, analysis and insights.
- Lead the annual remuneration review end-to-end, including planning timelines, coordinating inputs, monitoring progress, and communicating outcomes.
- Develop workforce and remuneration cost models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Apply the SP10 evaluation framework to size jobs, and keep our job evaluation database in order.
Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring;
- A relevant tertiary qualification in HR, business, analytics, stats, or a related discipline.
- Strong HR background with demonstrated experience in HR analytics – experience in remuneration analysis and job evaluation would be advantageous.
- Top-notch analytical skills and Excel know-how; Power BI experience is a bonus.
- Experience with HRIS platforms like SAP SuccessFactors or Chris21 (or similar).
- Clear communication, collaboration, and a sharp eye for detail.
