Carpenter - Facilities Team

Te Tūranga | About the role

Are you a level-headed problem solver who takes pride in quality workmanship?  We're looking for a multi-skilled Carpenter to join our Facilities Renewals team. This is a varied role working on TCC assets that can be community based, residential or commercial. This is a mixed role which will include general carpentry, painting (internal and external), concreting (mixing, laying, shuttering), roofing, flooring, machine operation (WTR ideally), plastering as well as many other similar tasks.

Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm.

Examples of projects may include:  Sports Clubs refurbishments, creation of a seawalls (concrete or timber), insertion of bollards, building decks, inserting kitchen cabinetry, laying the concrete foundation for cricket wickets, installing a roof on a commercial property and fencing (steel or timber) as well as much more.

Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed

• Be a team player with a positive attitude and a respect for Health and Safety
• Physically fit and healthy, able to lift 10kg

• Relevant building/carpentry qualification  

• 5+ years experience across a variety of building methods and materials
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently
• Sound technology skills to be able to use out work app/ ipad
