Are you a practical problem-solver who takes pride in quality workmanship? We're looking for a Handyperson to join our Facilities Team in a generalist maintenance role.
Te Tūranga | About the role
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone physically fit, adaptable, and ready to tackle a variety of tasks such as carpentry & building, water blasting/ cleaning, painting & plastering, renovation work (including installation), carpeting, floor coating, gardening, landscaping and removal of graffiti. Your work will be a mix of reactive and planned maintenance, so the ability to prioritise and pivot is essential.
- Normal hours are 7am to 3.30pm, 40-hour week, but flexibility is required as some buildings assets may not be accessible during this time.
- On-call work is part of this role (additional allowances will be paid), typically one week out of ten rotating roster.
- Based at our Owens Place Depot
Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, we’re looking for:
- At least 5 + years’ experience in a generalist maintenance or handyperson role
- Trade background or relevant qualification in building/carpentry preferred
- Strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Confident with basic digital tools (ipad, mobile phone and apps) and systems
- A team player with clear communication skills
- Full, clean NZ driver’s licence
