Operator - Revegetation
About the City Operations Team
The vegetation on the sand dunes plays a critical part in keeping our dune structure stable and our coastline and environment looking beautiful.
We are currently on the lookout for a Dunes Revegetation Operator to join our team. This includes hand pulling weeds, planting, spraying of plant pests, chainsaw use and line trimmer use.
This role will be based out of our Owens Place, Mount Maunganui depot.
This role in very hands on and physically tough, you will be working in all weather conditions in full view of the community.
· Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm (40 hour per week)
· Full uniform, PPE, wet weather gear, and work boots are provided
· Start ASAP
Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in the City Operations Team you'll need:
· Honesty and integrity are critical to working in our team
· Relevant experience ideally in revegetation, dune care, gardening, landscaping, or labouring
· Relevant qualifications such as First Aid, Growsafe are preferred but full training will be provided
· Must be comfortable handling and spraying agrichemicals
· Ability to use a mobile phone and learn our workflow app
· A positive attitude and a willingness to listen and learn
· The ability to deliver a high quality of work and take real pride in what you do
· A track record of being a reliable team player
· A full clean drivers licence
· The ability to follow and implement Health and Safety guidelines
· Be physically fit and able to work outdoors on your feet all day
· Good communication and customer service skills – you’ll need to be comfortable answering the communities enquires while out on the job, you’ll be an ambassador for the City Ops Team!
