Te Tūranga | About the role

We are currently on the lookout for a Revegetation Operator to join our team. The successful applicant will work as part of our Natural Environment Team bringing sites across Tauranga to a high standard for all to enjoy and experience.

The role requires knowledge and experience of Natural Vegetation maintenance such as:

· Pest plant identification and control methods.

· Agrichemical and physical removal of pest plants and vegetation.

· Using mechanical tools and equipment for maintenance work.

· Chainsaw, tree pruning and chipper operations.

These roles are very hands on and physically demanding, you will be working outdoors which means you’ll have to be comfortable working in all terrains and all-weather conditions.

· Hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm (40 hour per week)

· Full uniform, PPE, wet weather gear, and work boots are provided

· All tools and transport supplied

Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed

In our City Operations team we are looking for;

· Honesty and integrity (this is critical)

· A track record of being reliable and a positive team player

· Relevant qualifications such as First Aid, Traffic Management, Growsafe, LUV and Chainsaw are preferred

· Strong pest plant and plant knowledge

· Ability to use a mobile phone and learn our multiple workflow apps

· A positive attitude and a willingness to listen and learn

· The ability to deliver a high quality of work and take real pride in what you do

· A full clean drivers licence

· The ability to follow and implement Health and Safety guidelines

· Be physically fit and able to work outdoors on your feet all day

· Have great communication and customer service skills – you’ll need to be comfortable being an Ambassador for TCC and answering the communities enquires while out on the job

· Must be able to pass a medical and drug and alcohol tests
