Plumber - Facilities Team
Te Tūranga | About the role
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Plumber to join our in-house Facilities Team.
As a City Ops Plumber you’ll be maintaining and repairing services across a wide variety of TCC residential buildings and commercial assets (for example public toilets, libraries, Mt Holiday Park, sports club rooms and more). This includes reactive and planned maintenance and minor project work. We need a registered/ licensed plumber that is happy to do installations, repairs and maintenance on pipes, valves, fittings and drainage systems.
We need a proactive person that takes health and safety seriously, can work independently, can adapt to changes to the plan as they happen and understand the importance of keeping the community, customers and stakeholders happy.
· Typical hours are 7am to 3.30pm, 40-hour week, but flexibility is required as some buildings assets may not be accessible during this time.
· On-call work is part of this role (additional allowances will be paid), typically one week out of four-week rotating roster.
This role will be based out of our Owens Place depot.
This role reports to the Supervisor – Facilities.
Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed within the City Operations Team you will need
· At least 6 years' experience in Residencial and Commercial plumbing.
· Full and Clean Class 1 NZ licence.
· Qualified Registered and Licensed Plumber/Gas Fitter (The National Standard Plumbing Code).
· Independent Qualified Person registration/ compliance.
· A curious nature where you love to understand how things work.
· Availability for after-hours work from time to time to service our client base.
· Proven ability to multitask and prioritise competing demands.
· A strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills.
· Technology savvy with the ability to use mobile apps and an ipad to track and report on work.
· Strong communication skills.
